Hi Guys. Anyone interested in signing my petition? As some of you may be aware, I am a Disney fan and I collect Limited Edition Dolls which Disney release from time to time. These aren't generally available in shops and only small amounts are produced and sold on line. Yesterday, was the release date for Disney's Anna and Elsa from Frozen at 8am in the morning, so as usual I was sitting at the computer well before that time refreshing the page over and over and over - constantly. At exactly 8am the Disney site crashed and didn't come back on line until 8.25am, by which time ALL the dolls had been sold. I have had an ongoing dispute with Disney that the website is flawed and unfair to buyers. They insisted that every country has an allocated number of dolls, but people in Europe can not only buy from their own country, they can go on other websites and order elsewhere - except the UK, we can only place an order for UK stock. But what I have found out is.... people in Europe, finding their allocations had been sold were buying them from the UK and by the time the UK site came on line, they had all been sold.
Despite my protestations with Disney, they don't think they are doing anything wrong and if you weren't a successful buyer - then better luck next time. I am trying to raise a petition to get Disney to increase the number of dolls available and make it fairer worldwide.
Countless miserable collectors are leaving their disgust in the form of blogs, on the Disney site, but more needs to be done.
Recently, Disney blatantly raised the price of the last doll at the very last minute, for UK buyers, from £60 to £80. People that were queuing at a store waiting for it to open, saw staff removing the doll from the shelves and repricing them. One instance was of a girl who took her doll to the counter, clearly marked at £60 and before it went through the till, the assistant changed the sticker to £80, which is against the law!!!!!
So we all got a petition together airing out disgust for what Disney did, and because of that petition, ALL buyers of that doll were given refunds AND an extra £10 as a voucher.
Which is why I need signatures for my petition, together we are stonger!!!
