Im a Captain Jack Sparrow entertainer from Wigan and taking time to collect more exact parts of Jacks outfirt and going generally for the Curse of the Black Pearl look. There is a big difference in Jacks outfit and hair between all three. Anyway. Have a great week folks and sending you that horizon, lifes adventures are at hand. Look lively mates haha Yours Alan 'Jack Rascal' Minshull

Thanks everyone its great to meet you all Ive been putting that basic outfit on now for around a year. Love raising money for charity and have a day out in Southport Lord Street on August 30th, for the Marine Conservation Society UK. Me and a few other friends did Liverpool Albert Docks early on in the year with great success and it was a fun day for all and Ive appeared at Wigan Comic Con with lots of other great movie characters and Anime. Up to now I have the vest, sash, shirt, coat, Hat and a sword, wrist wrap and palm glove. I am slowly getting the other bits together. Pistol, proper belts and Baldric sword belt, boots and compass. Chris and Tracey, Im interested in hearing and seeing what Jack bits and pieces you have. Great to hear from you too Skar, and you too Glittergirl. and Crazywampa and Powell. Life is what you make it, thats why I choose fun

Thankyou James aka POWELL. Great to meet you here. I have just discovered what Clearance means and will be setting myself up to have the photos taken for consideration as a full costumed member, all going well. For now though its fun to be here.

Hi Alan, unfortunately Jack was sold a few months ago, you joined at the wrong time . I originally made it for my son a few years back and we used to take it around with our costume exhibitions He makes a very brief appearance on this video at our local Church (unfortunately the mannequin's head is too big for the hat!!) and at Ludlow with Lee Bradley from UK Garrison :/ I cheated with my compass though, as I only needed it as an exhibit, I had hubby make one from a piece of wood, but you wouldn't know the difference. I had an ace dread lock wig though, made most of it myself and was sorry to see it go. You've made me get all sentimental now. I know this costume so well, but I will require front, back etc., all the usual poses for clearance purposes. Tracy said I should let you borrow my pistol and compass - so I will. If we are attending a troop together, you can BORROW them. (that's not a tear in my eye, its just very windy today)

Aw Chris, the compass extrerior is amazing! One of the best ive seen. I love the gold/bronze detailing. Ill have a compass soon, a rep one from my friend Kenny. Its a cheap imitation one and only cost him £20 but I was going to order a Disney replica and Ive found an amazing place that do replica cap firing flintlock pistols for around £27 each. My friend bought one (Pirate dueling pistol) and its heavy and loud as blazes hehe So thats where im heading, end of the month. Here is a link to the website DARKBLADE but ill also upload the link to the appropriate place too. Ive purchased the official Disney Capt Jack Sparrow replica sword (Hard plastic) purposefully so I can carry it around with me everywhere I go as Jack. The replica Captain Jack Sparrow boots from CaBoots USA are sadly way out of my financial league at around £300, but there are brown leather ones that you can find online with lovely big pirate cuffs for around £75, so ill order them for now. My mate Kenny Captain Sparrow from Glasgow uses them too and best of all they are waterproof For my outfit, so far I have a replica wig with bandana, reindeer bone sail bone and his forhead piece of eight and hair beads and trinkets. The shirt is a gillie shirt from Scotland, the frock coat I ordered from Cosplaysky and its fitted to my size, the vest too which I am currently bleaching and dyeing sleight blue like Jacks. I have the palm glove which I made from an old leather jacket hehe and also the hand made wrist wrap and a replica skull ring with the blue turquoise stone. Lastly the sash which is a replica of jacks and tattered and stained to give it a worn look. Anyway, as soon as I have more of my outfit, I shall begin uploading photos of it all as requested. Thankyou for this wonderful opportunity to be with you all on a troop in the future too. I am so looking forward to that

I bought the Disney sword and just left it as it was, but when its weathered properly, it really is the business. CAn't remember where I saw it done now, probably someone from Galactic Knights(??) Anyway, as far as the pistol goes (and I think Graham will agree with me here), I don't think you will be able to fire it while you're trooping. There are some really good ones out there, in fact, went to Chirk castle recently and was drooling over a pistol with a silver end on the handle. Had a look at Jack's replica boots as well and as you say, more than an arm and a leg's worth!!
I bought the wig and bandana and added my own dreads, there just weren't enough of them!! My fella, ditched the plastic reindeer "bone" they supply and made me one out of wood, was much better. I also had a stash of old foreign coins and strung them into the hair and wound leather thong cord in the dreads.
I had ALL the replica rings as well and sold them with the costume - darn!! otherwise you could have had them. After making the shirt, I then stamped it into the dirty, dragged it around the lawn with rocks inside it, slashed a few rips into the sleeves for sword hits. Back then, you would have slept in your clothes, so it had to look like it had never been washed, I think I managed that okay. And took sandpaper and a cheese grater to the waistcoat to weather it. And don't forget the piece of battered lace.
